Greetings from Uganda. It seems the last few weeks I have been in a constant battle with technology. In May we changed our ISP to a 3G service. Some time in the future the internet should get faster. Problem is it is still bottlenecking somewhere. About 3 or 4 fiber optic cables have been laid in the Indian Ocean, link East Africa with South Africa, India and a cable up the Red Sea. Apparently the project got a bit delayed, because the ships laying the cables were trying to avoid Somali waters.
Since I last wrote 2 schools have graduated and 2 schools have started. The School of Health Promotion for Development was pioneered here in Jinja and had outreach around Jinja and Northern Uganda. The Discipleship Training School graduated just this last Saturday (18th) after completing a successful outreach in Tanzania. After some years of being off, the Vocational Training School is back giving training to 4 young girls. Another newbie on the base is the School of Administration which began at the beginning of June. This is the 1st SOA offered in Africa and the 3rd time it has ever run worldwide.
On 26th July I, along with most of the staff will be going to Tanzania of 1 week. We'll be meeting up with YWAMers through out East Africa (Tanzania, Kenya, Ethiopia, South Sudan, Uganda, Rwanda and Eastern DRC. Most of the staff are still trusting for the finances for this trip.
Another big event will be the YWAM UofN Workshop hosted jointly in South Africa, North Africa, Switzerland and Ukraine. The 4 locations will be linked by video conferencing and I will be going to South Africa to be part of the GENESIS team (YWAM's video conferencing) in August. I also hope to squeeze in a flying visit to my high school reunion in September, just before the workshop starts.

I don't here much from Cornwall, but I understand my folks have had a holiday in Bristol.
